Type catalogue of the class Diplopoda from the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg.

A complete catalogue of the type specimens of Diplopoda housed in the Zoological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences, St. Petersburg (as of May of 2026) is provided. Species of 29 millipede families in nine orders are represented by types or type series: a total of 157 species (977 specimens), of which 80 are represented by primary types (holotypes or lectotypes). The taxonomic status of ten ancient species described by JF Brandt is clarified based on a re-examination of the types, and the following new combinations are proposed: ?Allawrencius capensis (Brandt, 1841), comb. nov. ex Polydesmus Latreille, 1802/03; Anadenobolus grandis (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Spirobolus Brandt, 1833; Anadenobolus marcgravii (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Spirobolus Brandt, 1833; Anadenobolus olfersii (Brandt, 1833), comb. nov. ex Spirobolus Brandt, 1833; Camaricoproctus laticollis (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758; Iulomorpha rotundata (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758; Poratophilus capensis (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758; Spinotarsus bicuspidatus (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758; Spinotarsus flavotaeniatus (Brandt, 1840), comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758; Orthoporoides erythropareius (Brandt, 1840) = Orthoporoides trigonyger (Brandt, 1840), syn. nov. et comb. nov. ex Julus Linnaeus, 1758.
