The Hexatoma (Eriocera) plumbicincta (Brunetti, 1911) species group is a distinctive and species-poor lineage within the subgenus Hexatoma (Eriocera) Macquart, 1838. Only two species of this species group had previously been recorded from China. In the present study, H. (E.) chrysomela (Edwards, 1921) is redescribed and newly recorded from Guizhou Province, Hunan Province, and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, and a new species of this species group, H. (E.) guangxiensissp. nov., is described and illustrated from Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Yunnan Province. A key to the plumbicincta species group occurring in China is provided.
