An Overview of Bullying Behavior Among Adolescents at SMP Negeri 1 Telaga Jaya

Introduction: Bullying behavior is a common problem among school-aged adolescents and can negatively affect their emotional condition and social development. Objective: This study aims to describe bullying behavior among students at SMP Negeri 1 Telaga Jaya. Method: This research used a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 279 students, with a sample of 165 respondents selected using proportional stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire measuring bullying behavior among adolescents. Data were analyzed using univariate analysis to determine the frequency distribution of bullying behavior. Result: The results showed that the majority of respondents were in the low bullying category, totaling 122 students (73.9%), while 43 students (26.1%) were in the high bullying category. Conclusion: These findings indicate that bullying behavior still exists among adolescents and requires attention from the school. It is recommended that schools enhance prevention efforts through education, character building, and by creating a safe and supportive school environment to reduce bullying behavior among adolescents.
