Adaptation of business resilience management of agricultural enterprises as a factor in ensuring food security: challenges of war and strategies for post-war recovery

The article explores the role of adaptive management of business resilience in agricultural enterprises as a key factor in ensuring food security under wartime challenges and in the context of the post-war transformation of Ukraine’s economy. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing scale of risks and uncertainty caused by the war, the disruption of agri production and logistics chains, the loss of resource potential in the agricultural sector, and the intensification of threats to the stability of food systems at both national and global levels. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the role of adaptive management of business resilience of agricultural enterprises as a determinant of food security under wartime conditions and to identify priority strategies for post-war recovery. The methodological framework of the study is based on general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, a systems and structural-functional approach, and the generalization of contemporary concepts of business resilience, adaptive and crisis management, presented in the works of domestic and international scholars and international organizations. The article summarizes theoretical approaches to the interpretation of adaptive management and business resilience in the context of agricultural enterprises, identifies key challenges and risks of agri-business operations under wartime conditions, and substantiates the relationship between the level of business resilience of agricultural enterprises and the capacity of the food system to ensure food availability, stability, and quality. It is demonstrated that adaptive management of business resilience enhances the ability of agricultural enterprises to withstand shocks, maintain production continuity, and lay the foundation for the sustainable recovery of the agricultural sector in the post-war period. The practical significance of the research lies in the development of a system of strategic directions for adaptive management of business resilience of agricultural enterprises, aimed at reducing vulnerability to crisis impacts, restoring production potential, and strengthening the role of the agricultural sector as a driver of economic stabilization and long term development of Ukraine.
