Abstract We report on the thermal behavior of octacyano-Fe-phthalocyanine (FePc(CN) 8 ), which is an organic semiconductor molecule with a rare crystal structure known as x-form, and FePc-MOF, which is a metal-organic framework synthesized using FePc(CN) 8 as a precursor. Based on the results of TG-DTA, FTIR, and XRD measurements, it was found that both FePc(CN) 8 and FePc-MOF undergo thermal decomposition accompanied by a gradual weight loss above 270 °C and 400 °C, respectively. However, neither exhibits significant thermal decomposition of their molecular or crystalline structures up to approximately 400 °C, indicating that both possess high thermal stability.
