ABSTRACT Chili peppers are a highly sought-after horticultural commodity, ranking second in market demand after red chilies. Consequently, many farmers opt to cultivate chili peppers to boost their income. To achieve optimal results, farmers often employ superior varieties that offer numerous benefits, including enhanced productivity, pest and disease resistance, shorter maturation periods, and improved shelf life. This research was designed to investigate the growth characteristics of various chili pepper varieties and determine which variety demonstrates the most favorable growth traits. The study was carried out over four months, spanning from October 2023 to February 2024, at Senduk Village.This research design used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with three treatments and nine replications was utilized. Plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, and harvest age were the variables observed. The findings revealed distinct differences in growth characteristics among the three varieties tested. The Mahameru variety exhibited favorable performance in plant height and stem diameter. In contrast, the Dewata 43 variety demonstrated the earliest flowering time.
