Teaching methodology is a discipline that forms part of the curriculum in the Bachelor of Music program; in the specific case of the violin and viola, within the Academic Unit of Arts of the Autonomous University of Zacatecas [UAA-UAZ] , it gains relevance through the impact it has on students’ future professional practice. His context provides the motivation for the present article, which aims to reflect on the development of methodological skills for violin and viola teaching within the course of Instrument Teaching Methodology, Violin/Viola at UAA UAZ, grounded in both teacher and student perspectives. A qualitative methodology was adopted, employing documentary analysis, experiential analysis, unstructured interviews, and pedagogical observation. Collectively, these methods made it possible to underscore both the importance of discipline within the curriculum and the impact it has on the formation of methodological skills in future professionals.
