The views of renowned historiosopher Nikolay Yakovlevich Danilevsky are particularly relevant for contemporary Russia. In one case, they are genuine prophecies, coming true before our very eyes, and in another, false prophecies, capable of giving rise to fatal delusions and political errors. In both cases, they are useful for study, both for establishing the correct direction for foreign and domestic policy and for avoiding false political hopes and orientations.
