原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
Human Papilloma Virus infection represents one of the most common sexually transmitted infections worldwide. While research on Human Papilloma Virus has traditionally focused on its role in cervical cancer pathogenesis, such infection is also highly prevalent in the male population. Despite this, the clinical management of Human Papilloma Virus in men still remains limited, with no universally accepted screening protocols or therapeutic guidelines. This clinical case series describes six male patients (aged 26-66 years) with Human Papilloma Virus infection detected in samples of urethral mucosa, anal mucosa, or seminal fluid. Each patient took the dietary supplement containing epigallocatechin gallate (200 mg), folic acid (400 μg), vitamin B12 (1 mg), and hyaluronic acid (50 mg) daily for up to 6 months. After the oral supplementation, each patient reported complete Human Papilloma Virus clearance. These findings provide, for the first time, preliminary evidence on the positive effect of such molecules in promoting Human Papilloma Virus clearance across different male anatomical sites, including anal and urethral mucosa and seminal fluid. Although preliminary, this report highlights the often-overlooked issue of Human Papilloma Virus management in men, thus paving the way for additional clinical studies with the aim of defining the role of such dietary supplements in counteracting Human Papilloma Virus infection in men.
