The interaction of troops during the First World War is a little-studied aspect of the armed confrontation between the Entente and the Triple Alliance. Without understanding the methodological issues and approaches, it is impossible to conduct historical research on the interaction of troops during the creation, development, and improvement of the branches and types of troops in the armed forces of the Russian Empire, as well as their training and participation in combat operations and campaigns of various scales. This study addresses the methodological challenges associated with the use of conceptual frameworks and proposes a research methodology that allows for a comprehensive understanding of the interaction of troops during the First World War through a combination of interrelated approaches, principles, and methods of scientific inquiry. The article concludes that it is necessary to create a conceptual framework that eliminates differences in interpretation and understanding and allows for the solution of scientific problems related to the interaction of troops during the First World War. The article proposes a research model that allows for the identification of the structure and content of troop interaction during the preparation and execution of operations.
