Research on the Consumption Preference of Rice Weevil (Sitophilus oryzae) on Several Rice Varieties was conducted from March to May 2026 at the Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Science and Technology, PGRI University of Palembang. This study aimed to analyze the consumption preference level of rice weevils toward different rice varieties. The research employed an experimental method using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of six treatments with five replications, namely white rice, red rice, black rice, white glutinous rice, black glutinous rice, and briyani rice. Data were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) followed by the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test at the 5% significance level. The results showed that rice varieties had a highly significant effect on the consumption preference of rice weevils. The highest average weight loss was observed in red rice at 34.84 g, while the lowest was found in briyani rice at 7.51 gr. The highest consumption preference percentage was also recorded in red rice at 6.97%, whereas the lowest was in briyani rice at 1.50%. The LSD test indicated that briyani rice was not significantly different from white rice, and black rice was not significantly different from white glutinous rice, while black glutinous rice differed significantly from red rice, which showed the highest preference value. Rice weight loss was directly proportional to the consumption preference level of rice weevils. These differences were influenced
