When weld access holes are provided, the deformation capacity of beam end connections is reduced, leading to the typical inclusion of horizontal haunches to prevent beam end fracture. However, horizontal haunches have productivity issues. The use of perfobond rib shear connector reinforcements in concrete filled tubular columns shows promise as a potential solution. Therefore, to evaluate the performance of beam end connections, this study conducted structural experiments. The results confirmed that beam end connections with perfobond rib shear connector reinforcements exhibit high strength and deformation capacities, as the out-of-plane deformation of the column skin plate is restrained.
