The growth of interdisciplinary research has brought with it an increasing demand for robust methods to map and synthesize diverse bodies of evidence. Among these, scoping reviews have emerged as a particularly valuable tool. They allow researchers to systematically explore complex, cross-cutting topics, clarify definitions, identify gaps, and build foundations for future inquiry.This guide was developed to respond to that need. It provides a step-by-step framework for conducting an interdisciplinary scoping review, illustrated with the example of digitalisation and its effects on the physical health of older workers. By walking through each stage of the process—from formulating research questions to reporting and publishing findings—the guide aims to make the methodology transparent, practical, and replicable for researchers at different career stages and across disciplines.The approach presented here is rooted in established frameworks and aligned with the PRISMA-ScR guidelines to ensure rigour and clarity. At the same time, it reflects the lessons learned from my own experience conducting interdisciplinary reviews in practice.I hope this guide encourages researchers to approach scoping reviews in a more systematic and transparent way, while also fostering collaboration across disciplines.
