<b>Group-Mind Affiliation in Facebook Comments about the Personal Status Law (Articles 7 and 57): A Critical Discourse Analysis</b>

The present study is a critical discourse analysis (CDA) that takes the comments on specific Facebook posts as the avenue for investigating the group-mind affiliation and the ideologies (anti-feminism and patriarchy) derived from such affiliation. "Group minds" is a theory in psychology and the present study draws on this theory. The present study aims at understanding the dynamics of the group minds and the tactics of affiliation that result from disagreement and debate. The study is mixed in trend, blending the qualitative with the quantitative method of research to achieve the aims of the study. It comes out with a set of social and discursive components of group-mind affiliation, involving sarcasm, taboo and insults, criticism, praise, legal reasoning, religious reasoning, domestic reasoning, personal reasoning, social reasoning and political reasoning. The collective behaviour of group minds is due to congenial representations of social actors and/or actions and congenial expectations of anticipated aspirations.
