The aim of the research is to identify the dynamics of cohesion types in Russian Empire regional documents of the 18th-century. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that, for the first time, linear, radial, and radial-linear types of cohesion are described based on the documents of the Don Host from the 1730s-1780s. It has been established that linear cohesion is implemented in texts with unhighlighted requisites, an extensive narrative fragment, and paratactic connections (host charters, representations, reports, promemorias, proposals). Radial cohesion is characteristic of texts whose structural-semantic blocks are connected by the topic and communicative purpose of the document (registers and lists). Radial-linear cohesion is found in texts with developed hypotactic connections between structural-semantic blocks, a shortened narrative fragment, and highlighted requisites (host charters, representations, reports, statements, etc.). The findings demonstrated that in 18th-century regional documents, cohesive devices are organized according to different structural types, and their dynamics manifest in radial-linear cohesion becoming predominant by the end of the 18th century.
