The aim of the research is to identify and theoretically substantiate the specific characteristics of a children's camp as a special environment for developing a future teacher's readiness for the activities of a class teacher. This article analyzes the capabilities of the educational process in a pedagogical university in developing the future teacher's readiness for the activities of a class teacher, highlighting the pedagogical potential of a children's camp in developing this type of readiness. The directions for using the potential of a children's camp to prepare students for class leadership in the educational process of a pedagogical university are identified and substantiated using the example of the activities of Volgograd State Socio-Pedagogical University. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the fact that, based on an activity-based approach, a children's camp is presented not as a space for child development and leisure organization, but as a specific quasi-professional environment for developing a future teacher's readiness for the activities of a class teacher. As a result of the study, the pedagogical prospects of using the potential of students' counselor internship in a children's camp to improve the quality of professional training of future teachers for educational activities are expanded.
