Impact of AI Agents on the Thinking Process of Students in the Indian Education System

Artificial Intelligence (AI) agents are rapidly transforming the educational environment by influencing the way students learn, think, and solve problems. This paper examines the impact of AI agents on the thinking process of students in the Indian education system. The study discusses the growing use of AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and coding assistants for academic writing, learning support, research, and problem-solving. It highlights both the positive and negative effects of AI on students. AI agents improve access to information, personalized learning, productivity, and digital skills, while excessive dependence on these tools may reduce critical thinking, creativity, independent learning, and problem-solving abilities. The paper also examines ethical concerns such as plagiarism, misinformation, privacy risks, and academic dishonesty. The study concludes that balanced and responsible integration of AI in education is necessary to ensure that technology supports rather than replaces human thinking and intellectual development.
