<b>Monitoramento do sistema de distribuição de água no Campus Campinas</b>

Introduction: The Water and Energy Division (DAE), in partnership with the Information Technology Department, modernized the drinking water distribution system at UNICAMP's Barão Geraldo campus, which has an average monthly consumption of 31,735 m3. Using Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, an advanced real-time monitoring and control system for consumption and water levels in reservoirs was created. Objective: The project aimed to modernize the water distribution monitoring process on campus, increasing reliability, facilitating data collection and reducing losses. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the university's strategic plan, the initiative seeks to optimize the management of water resources. Methodology: The system was implemented gradually, without interruptions in the water supply. Old equipment was replaced by new ones, integrated into the UNICAMP-IoT network. Adaptations, such as the development of a specific cable for serial and Ethernet communication, were necessary for integration with the monitoring network. Results: The creation of an Operational Monitoring Center (CMO) made it possible to monitor in real time the operation of the reservoirs and send automatic alerts about failures. The new technology reduced the need for technical travel and increased efficiency in detecting problems, such as leaks, generating significant financial savings. Conclusion: The project resulted in more efficient management of water distribution on campus, with rapid identification and correction of faults, greater community satisfaction and substantial savings in financial and water resources.
