The Archean Zani-Kodo gold deposit, located within the Kilo-Moto mining district of Ituri, Democratic Republic of the Congo, provides an outstanding example of the tight interplay between lithological and structural controls on ore grade geometry. A multivariate geochemical evaluation was applied to chemical analysis data from twenty-three samples collected throughout this gold district. The modeling extracted two principal components capturing 87,2 percent of the total variance and successfully partitioned the grid into three distinct chemical signatures sorted by their geological framework. Cluster 1 defined the barren regional plutonic host rock, composed of unaltered Tonalites and Granites, showing a stable Niobium to Tantalum ratio of 17,4. Cluster 2 localized the high-grade economic core of the system, strictly hosted within Banded Iron Formations, standing out with a critical Gold-Iron affinity showing a Pearson r coefficient of 0,52, an extreme sulfidation index of 593 475, and a gold anomaly reaching 772 times the average crustal background. Cluster 3 delineated the hydrothermal and structural pathway, marked by syn-kinematic sheared sericite-schists displaying a Gold to Silver ratio of 0,73. Joint composite contour mapping visually demonstrates that while ductile deformation channeled the regional flow of deep hydrothermal fluids, the iron-rich chemical trap of the Banded Iron Formations strictly dictated the precipitation and focalized accumulation of orogenic gold.
