First record of the invasive snail Sinotaia quadrata in an isolated lake in Buenos Aires City, Argentina.

The Asian freshwater snail Sinotaia quadrata is here reported for the first time in an isolated urban lake of Buenos Aires City (Argentina). By considering molecular information, the identity of the species is confirmed, and the Chinese / Japanese origin of the Argentine population is proposed. Furthermore, the risk of an imminent regional dispersion of this species is highlighted.
