Temporal Analysis of Urban Waterlogging Hotspots Using Landsat-Derived Spectral Indices: Kolkata, India

Aim of the study This study is to evaluate the alterations in LULC in study area from 2010 to 2020 and their effects on urban waterlogging. Material and methods Landsat 7 satellite imagery and advanced image classification methods are used to identify and map five LULC categories: water, Built-up regions, barren land, scrubland, and cultivated land. Results and conclusions The study underlines the necessity for particular urban design and water management measures to decrease the harmful effects of waterlogging and improve study area's sensitive urban areas' resilience. These findings are crucial for sustainable urban development and flood avoidance.
