Applications of the “A Fast, Strong, Topologically Meaningful and Fun Knot Invariant”

The invariant in the title comes with a memorable description. In this talk I will discuss some applications, including to unknotting numbers, computer vision, and potentially a few other mildly unexpected directions. The general theme is simple: once a knot invariant is both strong and cheap, one becomes tempted to use it for all sorts of things.
