Phase unwrapping in fringe projection profilometry becomes straightforward when the fringe order is known; however, in practice, the optical systems used to project and capture images alter the fringe order boundaries, leading to errors in the unwrapped phase. This way, this work deals with a simple method to correct the fringe order near boundaries by extrapolation, thereby improving the quality of the unwrapped phase.
