Imaging a target surrounded by scattering obscurants is challenging, because several random processes are involved. We address this problem using a speckle-correlation method applied to random fields generated by perfect optical vortices. We demonstrate that the resulting partially coherent light enhances resolution and provides superior imaging performance compared with conventional speckle illumination generated by Gaussian beams.
