Plasmonic metasurfaces provide subwavelength control of electromagnetic waves and enable compact, tunable photonic devices. We present a detailed study of structural translation-dependent, polarization-sensitive mode hybridization in a near-field-coupled terahertz plasmonic metasurface composed of a cut wire and split-ring resonators. Combined numerical and experimental analyses reveal distinct near-field coupling between dipolar and LC resonances under orthogonal probe polarizations, resulting in bonding and antibonding hybrid modes. The near-field electromagnetic coupling between the resonators governs the mode hybridization. This approach offers a robust route to multiband and multifunctional THz photonic systems.
