Going Public: Sharing Your Health Journey on Social Platforms.

This symposium includes twelve personal narratives from people who have shared information about their health on social media platforms. Three commentaries on these narratives are also included, authored by experts and scholars in the fields of privacy law, health communications, and literary studies. The goal of this symposium is to call attention to social media's role in shaping the way people make sense of their health, and to offer insights into both the affordances and risks of these popular digital spaces.
