Reverse Integration: Community-Based Breastfeeding Experts Integrated with Integrity into Traditional Clinical Prenatal Care.

Black Mothers Breastfeeding Association (BMBFA) partnered with Henry Ford Health (HFH) to integrate breastfeeding peer counselors into predominately Medicaid-eligible prenatal clinics. This initiative aims to improve inequitable breastfeeding initiation rates in Detroit vs the rest of Michigan and bridge the gap between clinical care and community-based breastfeeding support, better coordinating services and resources available to Black mothers.
