The objectives of this thesis were: (1) To assess all literature\\nconcerning prophylactic treatment of migraine in children and adolescents; (2) To\\ndescribe and evaluate the literature concerning the occurrence and manifestations of\\npsychological (dys)functioning and/or psychiatric comorbidity in children and adolescents\\nwith migraine in clinical studies; (3) To evaluate generic health-related Quality of Life (QoL)\\nin children and adolescents with primary headache at an outpatient department in a\\ngeneral hospital; (4) To assess the efficacy of medium-dose riboflavin as a prophylactic\\ndrug in childhood migraine; (5) To study generic health-related QoL and psychological\\nfunctioning as outcomes in a prophylactic intervention study in children with migraine;\\n(6) In a prospective study to investigate sleep deprivation as a potentially causative factor\\nfor headache attacks in childhood migraine, and to explore the effect of resting and\\nsleeping after the start of the headache attack on headache symptoms.
