Depression is common and sometimes debilitating in multiple sclerosis (MS), with a prevalence 2 to 3 times higher than in the general population. While the link between MS and depression is well established, the specific neurobiological mechanisms, particularly in the early stages of the disease, remain incompletely understood. The aim of this study was to investigate the neuroanatomical correlates of depression in early MS and to explore the interplay between lesions, atrophy, and depressive symptoms.
