Identity and Distribution of Celonites crenulatus Morawitz, 1888 (Hymenoptera: Vespidae: Masarinae) and Celonites kurzenkoi, a New Species from Turkmenistan

Celonites kurzenkoi, new species, is described from Turkmenistan. An illustrated key is provided for the separation of males and females of the species from the other taxa of the subgenus Eucelonites with shining interstices on the mesoscutum. Celonites crenulatus, Celonites clarus, and Celonites kurzenkoi probably form a monophyletic group, for which the name Celonites crenulatus clade is proposed. The geographical distribution of the members of the Celonites crenulatus clade is summarized.
