Today&s;s world is facing a serious problem with food waste. According to the FAO, over half of all food produced will never be eaten, making it a severe problem in our society that affects “poor and rich countries” equally. Instead of procrastinating, we have to deal with these issues and take many initiatives to reduce food waste. More research is needed to determine the efficiency of these methods or their potential to reduce food waste. Information is lacking regarding the economic, environmental, and social performance of efforts to reduce food waste, especially with reference to agro byproducts. The effectiveness of these techniques or their 2 potential to reduce food waste requires more research. There is a lack of information on the effectiveness of programs to minimize food waste in terms of economic, environmental, and social performance, particularly with regard to agro byproducts. Therefore, the bifurcation and utilization of food waste has been categorically identified and discussed in this chapter, emphasizing food waste management. This chapter fills in the knowledge gap by exploring the techniques currently trending in nonfiction to assess food waste categorically and understand the various alternatives to utilize them in order to cut the nutrition left over from various byproduct categories, minimize food wastage, and increase food sustainability.
