Sequences and intervals

This chapter organizes the atoms defined in the previous one — the pitch classes — in structured sets, mostly in arithmetic sequences, which cover many famous scales and rhythms. Modern concepts like Maximally Even sets and interval content are introduced, crowned with the delicate topic of homometry and Babbitt’s theorem.
