Response shift as a common mechanism linking quality of life gains and reduced aggressive care in early palliative care trials.

In this commentary, I address the association of quality of life and palliative care objective outcomes to Calman's gap and response shift. One can surmise that palliative care benefits are related to response shifts in quality of life which have a direct influence on choices of care at the end of life.
