Modular wound scaffolds based on microgels, and nanofibrous microstrcutures represent a new paradigm for wound fillers. These injectable building blocks enable precise control over porosity, mechanics, and bioactive factor delivery while conforming to irregular wound geometries. By recapitulating key features of the native extracellular matrix, modular fillers support cell infiltration, vascularization, and dynamic tissue remodeling. This approach overcomes limitations of bulk scaffolds and advances toward patient-specific, regenerative wound therapies.
