Praecarthasis Kerzhner, 1986 is a small Neotropical genus comprising six species. Knowledge about these bugs is limited. In this paper, we present new data about Praecarthasis gibbus Kerzhner, 1986, and Praecarthasis panamensis (Harris, 1926), along with photographs and SEM micrographs that show details of their morphology. The presence of parastigmal pits and their function are briefly discussed. In addition, the possibility of a future internal revision of this genus is also discussed.
