Myocardial expression of <i>ADGRL4</i> and <i>AQP7</i> is related to regression of left ventricular hypertrophy after aortic valve replacement in a sex-dependent manner

Regression of left ventricular hypertrophy is associated with better long-term outcome. This study demonstrates a significant relationship between ADGRL4 and AQP7 gene expression in perioperatively collected myocardial tissues and the regression of left ventricular mass postoperatively in male patients with aortic stenosis only. This could contribute to the development of a sex-based tool to predict the extent of postoperative hypertrophy regression.
