Giant choledochal cyst - type VI B.

Choledochal cyst is a congenital anomaly characterised by dilatation of various ducts of the biliary tree without mechanical obstruction. The aetiology of choledochal cysts remains controversial. A giant choledochal cyst is defined as one exceeding 10 cm craniocaudally and, to our knowledge, fewer than 10 cases have been reported. We are presenting a case report of a man in his early 20s who presented with yellow discolouration of the skin, abdominal pain and fullness of the right half of the abdomen, diagnosed with a type VI B choledochal cyst with dilatation of the cystic duct and common bile duct measuring 25×22 cm, among the largest reported to date and extremely rare.
