Novelties in Vietnamese Staurogyne (Acanthaceae): S. konchurangensis, a new species, and amended description of S. purpurea.

Staurogyne konchurangensis (Acanthaceae) is described and illustrated from Vietnam (Gia Lai Province, Kon Chu Rang Nature Reserve) as a species new to science. It is distinguished from its congeners by the following combination of morphological characters: bracts 5-8 mm long, calyx 10-13 mm long, and white corolla ca. 1.5-2 cm long. In addition, an amended description of S. purpurea is presented based on newly collected specimens and field observations; its key diagnostic features and geographical distribution are clarified.
