The printed circuit board (PCB) motor has garnered increasing attention and application due to its advantages, including a compact structure, small size, high power density, high efficiency, and low manufacturing costs. By carefully selecting the structural design and optimizing the winding configuration, it is possible to enhance the electromagnetic performance and torque characteristics of the motor. This article examines the features and potential application scenarios of axial flux PCB motors. It reviews the current research on axial flux PCB motors with a particular focus on winding design. Furthermore, it identifies existing challenges and future directions for research in this area. This work aims to provide researchers and engineers with up-to-date insights into advancements in axial PCB motor design and technology.
