Dataset on student engagement in teaching evaluations at a private university in Vietnam.

This article presents an openly accessible survey dataset on student engagement in teaching evaluations collected from undergraduate students at a private university in Vietnam. The dataset was collected through an online questionnaire administered to 362 undergraduate students enrolled in software engineering and business programs at a private university. The original instrument contained 30 items designed to measure organizational identification, institutional trust, perceived usefulness of student evaluations, process clarity, constructive evaluation behavior, and self-perceived evaluation bias. Following reliability and validity assessment, a validated five-factor measurement structure comprising 15 retained indicators was established. Data quality was evaluated using confirmatory factor analysis, reliability assessment, convergent validity, discriminant validity, and robustness checks. The resulting measurement model demonstrated satisfactory psychometric properties, with standardized factor loadings ranging from 0.814 to 0.945, Cronbach's alpha values ranging from 0.866 to 0.931, and average variance extracted values exceeding recommended thresholds. The repository includes the anonymized dataset, questionnaire, codebook, reproducibility code, and public documentation. The dataset may support research on student evaluation of teaching, student engagement in higher education, institutional trust, organizational identification, educational measurement, and structural equation modeling applications. It may also facilitate replication studies and comparative research across higher education systems.
