The title mol-ecule, C23H18ClNO2S·H2O, has a stable conformation with S(5) and S(6) rings formed by intra-molecular C-H⋯S and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The water mol-ecule and the carboxyl oxygen atom of the main mol-ecule also make an O-H⋯O hydrogen bond. In the crystal, N-H⋯O, O-H⋯Cl, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds connect mol-ecules to form a three-dimensional network. The mol-ecules are further connected by C-H⋯π inter-actions and face-to-face π-π inter-actions into layers parallel to the (001) plane.
