Electrical Stimulation With stereoelectroencephalography for Defining the Surgical Target: A Contemporary Approach.

This review aims to summarize important concepts related to electrical stimulation for the induction of seizures as it is understood in 2026. We discuss the history of electrical stimulation; we describe important methodological considerations when stimulating; we review key recent publications regarding the clinical validity of stimulated seizures; and we mention emerging areas of interest and opportunities for continued exploration.
