OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of a 12-week worksite health promotion program on cardiometabolic risk factors among healthcare workers.
METHODS: A non-randomized controlled trial was conducted in Taoyuan, Taiwan (2019-2021), comparing an intervention group receiving active appointment surveillance and physical training referrals with a control group receiving conventional health education, with measurements taken at baseline and 12 weeks.
RESULTS: Among 94 eligible participants, the intervention group showed significant reductions in waist circumference, body mass index, blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose, gamma-glutamyl transferase, and lipid profiles compared with the control group.
CONCLUSION: The 12-week worksite health promotion program effectively improved cardiometabolic risk factors and may enhance healthcare worker wellness.
