Impact of a curriculum on internal medicine residents' outpatient management of severe hypertension at a VA primary care clinic.

We previously developed a curriculum on outpatient severe hypertension management for internal medicine residents and examined its impact on patient care at a Federally Qualified Health Center. Here we evaluate the curriculum's effects at a second site, a Veterans Affairs primary care clinic. We found the curriculum was associated with improved antihypertensive treatment intensification among clinicians who did vs. did not receive the curriculum.
