In an international cohort of hospitalized patients included in the Multi-Drug-Resistant Organism Network with carbapenem-resistant Gram-negative infections, increased age-adjusted Charlson Comorbidity Index scores were associated with increased mortality particularly in those with respiratory and less so in those with bloodstream infections. Cirrhosis, diabetes, and peripheral vascular disease were important contributors.
