原始摘要(英文原文)· Original abstract
Abstract This chapter focuses on developing clients’ awareness of emotional states and teaching strategies to manage stress and intense emotions. It begins by reviewing previous exercises and discussing common challenges in emotion regulation among individuals with autism, such as difficulty recognizing or expressing feelings and managing anxiety. The chapter introduces key concepts of emotion regulation and provides psychoeducation on the physiological and cognitive roots of emotional responses, linking these to coping strategies and the importance of selfcompassion. It also explains the principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy through the Thoughts–Feelings–Sensations–Actions model, helping clients understand how these elements interact and how reframing thoughts improves emotional control. Finally, the chapter guides clients in developing personalized self-regulation strategies across cognitive, sensory, emotional, and behavioral domains; assigns practice exercises; and concludes with follow-up planning to reinforce progress and accountability.
