The Role of the DIAC’s Organs

Abstract This chapter narrates the institutional history and development of the DIAC. In doing so, it analyses the functions of its current institutional organs, namely the DIAC Arbitration Court, the DIAC Secretariat and Registrar, the DIAC Executive Director, and the Board of Directors. It also explores recent developments, including the DIAC digital platform, the DIAC’s partnerships with third-party providers, and the maintenance of its roster of arbitrators. The operation and day-to-day practices of these organs are what drive DIAC-administered proceedings. As such, transparency and a better understanding of these organs intend to give arbitral users and different stakeholders in the DIAC arbitration sufficient awareness to better manage their engagement with the DIAC.
