Abstract We investigate the stability of charged Dyson shells surrounding static, spherically symmetric compact objects. While such configurations are known to be unstable in asymptotically flat spacetimes, we show analytically that the inclusion of a negative cosmological constant introduces a stable equilibrium configuration. In particular, when the shell’s charge exceeds a critical value, the system admits a stable static radius independent of the mass of the central object. This result extends previous analyses and provides new insights into the interplay between charge, self-gravity, and the cosmological constant in thin-shell dynamics.
