Nigeria is Africa’s leading rice producer and a major aquaculture producer, yet domestic supply remains inadequate. Integrated rice – fish farming offers a risk-diversifying land-use option, but empirical evidence on its financial performance is limited. This study analyzes the financial viability of an integrated rice – fish system on a 2000 m2 demonstration plot in Kebbi State, Nigeria, under the USAID Feed the Future Innovation Lab. Using enterprise budgeting, break-even, and sensitivity analyses with conservative yield adjustments, the results show a net profit of ₦1,539,273 per cycle, driven largely by fish revenue. Profitability remains robust under adverse scenarios, highlighting strong income and risk-diversification potential.
