The Functional, Expressive, and Aesthetic (FEA) consumer needs model research has recently witnessed exponential growth. In this article, 230 FEA Scopus documents written by 497 authors spanning three decades (1992-2023) are examined using bibliometric network techniques. By so doing, the FEA consumer needs model research influential authors and journals, emerging trends, collaboration networks, and historical roots are scrutinised. Our findings show that the most relevant outlets publishing FEA consumer needs model research are the International Journal of Fashion Design, Technology and Education, Clothing and Textile Research Journal, Journal of Fashion Marketing and Management, Fashion Practice, and Family and Consumer Sciences Research Journal. Results also show that there is limited cross-cultural collaboration in the FEA consumer needs model research. Finally, the ‘citation classics’ of FEA consumer needs model research are detected using the reference publication year spectroscopy (RPYS).
